$200K Apple Product Theft: CHP and Sheriff Intercept Cargo Van

Los⁢ Angeles – A⁤ shipment of Apple products valued at ⁤$200,000, stolen from Nevada, was⁢ recovered ⁣in ⁤Los ⁤Angeles following a traffic stop on the 5 Freeway near Western Avenue Wednesday afternoon. Two male suspects were ⁣taken ⁢into custody.

The California ‌Highway Patrol (CHP) intercepted the stolen‌ goods after an ⁤LASD helicopter crew⁣ spotted the suspect vehicle around ‍3:40 p.m. ⁣and alerted CHP ‍officers. This‌ recovery highlights the ongoing ‍battle against cargo and retail theft⁤ in California, a problem impacting ‌businesses and consumers statewide. Authorities are continuing their examination to determine the full scope of the theft and any potential connections to other crimes.

“The CHP maintains an ⁣active role in fighting cargo and ⁢retail theft ⁢across our grate ⁣State,” stated CHP Southern ⁢Division Chief‍ chris Margaris. “we‍ collaborate with allied⁢ agencies nationwide,​ and we will employ all our available resources to ensure the integrity and safety of our‌ state’s transportation ⁤system, commerce, and consumers. Cargo theft, retail theft, and crime in general will not be tolerated⁣ in California.”
