Gold Prices Dip as Dollar Strengthens, Geopolitical Tensions Ease – October 10, 2025
Bangkok, Thailand – World gold prices experienced a downward correction today, October 10, 2025, according to Hua Seng Heng, responding to a strengthening US Dollar and a tentative easing of geopolitical anxieties.
The Dollar Index (DXY) continued its four-day climb, reaching 99.39 units – up from 97.95 – fueled by concerns over potential monetary and fiscal easing in Japan, which has weakened the Yen. Political instability in France, marked by the Prime Minister’s resignation, also contributed to a weaker Euro, further bolstering the dollar. The 10-year US bond yield remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 4.11% and 4.14%.
Adding to the downward pressure, a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel offered a temporary reprieve from safe-haven demand. The agreement stipulates the release of approximately 2,000 Palestinian prisoners by Israel in exchange for 20 living and the remains of 28 deceased Israeli hostages held by Hamas.
This combination of factors prompted investors to reduce their gold holdings. SPDR Gold Trust holdings decreased by 1.14 tons, bringing the total to 1,013.44 tons, signaling a shift in investor sentiment.
Trading Strategy & Key Levels
Analysts recommend a short-term strategy of accumulating gold at the $3,960 support level, with a profit target of $4,000. However,a breach of the $3,940 support level should trigger a sell-off to limit potential losses.
Thai Gold Market Mirrors Global Trend
the domestic gold market mirrored the global downturn, with prices falling 600 baht today. The Thai Baht’s four-day weakening further exacerbated the decline.Traders are advised to consider buying and accumulating near the 61,650 baht support level, aiming to sell at the 62,050 baht resistance. A break below the 61,450 baht support level warrants a sell order to mitigate risk.
