SAN FRANCISCO – Princess Astrid showcased Belgian innovation during an economic mission to California this week, arriving at odoo headquarters in San Francisco sporting a pair of sneakers from the Walloon Brabant-based software company.The Palace requested the footwear after noticing them at Odoo’s recent Odoo Experience event held in Brussels three weeks ago, according to Wilfried Juncker, Managing Director of Odoo americas.
The gesture highlights the growing international success of odoo, a Belgian software publishing company now valued at approximately seven billion euros with 15 million users worldwide adn adding 10,000 more each month. The Princess’s visible support underscores Belgium’s commitment to fostering competitive, globally-reaching businesses, notably within the Walloon region, and signals a focus on technological partnerships during the California mission. Walloon Minister of the Economy, Pierre-Yves Jeholet, accompanying the Princess, hailed Odoo as “proof that a Walloon company can be competitive; can succeed and serve as a model.”
