“Marathon” Release Remains Uncertain, New Test Phase to Determine Launch Window
Bungie‘s highly anticipated extraction shooter, “Marathon,” faces continued uncertainty regarding its release date, now perhaps extending into early 2026.Originally slated for September 23, 2025, teh game was delayed in June to allow for further progress focused on gameplay refinement adn technical stability. A new test phase is now being positioned as a critical factor in determining the final launch timeline.

Sony CFO Lin Tao indicated the game is currently planned for release by the end of March 2026, contingent on the results of the upcoming testing period. “Marathon” is slated to launch on PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC, coinciding with ongoing efforts to more closely integrate Bungie within Sony’s PlayStation structure.
