Activision Reports 97% Success Rate in Combating Cheaters in Call of Duty: Black ops 7 Beta
October 5, 2025 – Activision is declaring a significant early victory in its battle against cheaters in the Call of duty: Black Ops 7 beta, claiming its Ricochet anti-cheat system has successfully identified and removed cheaters in 97% of cases within 30 minutes of detection. The announcement comes as the game faced initial concerns regarding cheating following the beta’s launch, mirroring issues experienced with Battlefield 6.
The proactive approach to anti-cheat measures is crucial for maintaining fair play and player engagement in the highly competitive Call of Duty franchise, impacting millions of players worldwide and the game’s long-term success. Activision’s response aims to reassure the community and demonstrate a commitment to a clean gaming environment.
According to a social media update from the publisher, less than 1% of cheaters successfully entered a match. The anti-cheat team primarily utilizes automated procedures, but emphasizes the continued importance of player reports in refining and improving the system.
Activision also stated that major cheat providers have found their tools ineffective in Black ops 7, with resellers unable to offer reliable cheating products. Over 40 cheat developers have reportedly been shut down.
The company defends its implementation of stringent system requirements, including TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot, stating these deeper-level interventions were “unavoidable” in the fight against fraud. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will not run without these security features enabled.
