Glass Packaging Remains Consumers’ Clear Choice in Germany, New Survey Finds
Düsseldorf, Germany – Glass packaging continues to be the preferred choice for German consumers, according to a recent survey by the Action Forum Glass Packaging. The data reveals a strong consumer preference for glass over other packaging materials when shopping for products on supermarket shelves.
The survey, conducted with members of the YouGov Panel in August 2011 (specifically August 15th and 18th, 2011), demonstrates glass’s enduring appeal. This preference has important implications for brands and retailers as they navigate evolving consumer demands for lasting and high-quality packaging. The results, weighted to be representative of the German resident population aged 18 and over, underscore glass’s position as a trusted and favored material.
The Action Forum Glass Packaging commissioned the survey to better understand consumer perceptions of different packaging types. The findings reinforce glass’s reputation for preserving product quality, being recyclable, and offering a premium aesthetic.
