iPhone 17e to Offer Performance Boost, But May Remain a Budget-Focused Choice
A new leak suggests Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17e will inherit the Dynamic Island and A19 chip, potentially matching the performance of the standard iPhone 17. However, the device is expected to retain features indicative of a more affordable model, such as a simpler screen and single rear camera.
According to information from Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman, the iPhone 17e will visually resemble the iPhone 16, upgrading from the older design featured on the iPhone 16e with the inclusion of the Dynamic Island. The A19 chip is anticipated to deliver performance on par with the iPhone 17. Despite these improvements, Apple reportedly intends to more clearly differentiate the “e” models from their standard counterparts, positioning the iPhone 17e as a distinct budget option while the iPhone 17 remains the premium choice.
The iPhone 16e launched in February, and current leaks indicate the iPhone 17e will arrive in May. Gurman has a strong track record with Apple leaks, lending credibility to the reported details, which align with previous rumors regarding the iPhone 17e’s upgrades.
