World of Warcraft Update Streamlines Set Item Collection, Reduces Frustration for Players
Blizzard Entertainment is implementing changes to the set item acquisition process in the upcoming World of Warcraft: The War Within expansion, aiming to alleviate player frustration and offer more flexibility for transmog collectors. A new account-wide heroic deed will allow players to add additional charges to the Raid bosses’ set catalytic converter, Mythic+ dungeons, depths, and rated PvP, once a 4-set bonus is unlocked with a single character.
Previously, players expressed concern over the inability to unlock templates from higher levels via the set catalyst in The War Within. The update addresses this by enabling players to convert lower-level veteran items into set pieces to achieve the 4-set bonus earlier in the season, rather than waiting for higher-level heroic items. This also allows for earlier conversion of non-set items like boots, belts, and arm rails to obtain improved secondary stats.
According to a Blue Post on the official World of Warcraft forums, the heroic deed granting these additional charges is character-specific and will not extend to alternate characters. The changes are intended to decrease player reliance on min-maxing and provide a more accessible path to acquiring desired set items.
