georgia Harrison Embraces Pregnancy, Reflects on Journey From Abuse Victim to MBE Recipient
Georgia Harrison says she feels “sexier with a bump” as she prepares to welcome her first child and opens up about finding love on a dating app, marking a new chapter for the reality star and advocate. Harrison, who is expecting a baby with her boyfriend, also spoke about her recent MBE honor and the work that led to changes in law regarding image-based sexual abuse.
The 29-year-old, previously known for appearances on Love Island and The Only Way Is Essex, received the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her campaigning work. Her advocacy followed a harrowing experience with her ex-boyfriend, Stephen Bear, who was jailed for 21 months in 2022 after being convicted of voyeurism and posting private sexual photographs of harrison on his OnlyFans account.
Harrison’s campaigning contributed to amendments made to the online Safety Bill in 2023, making it easier to prosecute individuals who share intimate images without consent, with a potential sentence of up to two years in prison. “Obviously I know that the MBE ties into me being a victim of image-based sexual abuse, and that definitely was the start of my journey,” Harrison said. “But I think a lot of it actually comes from all of the work I’ve done since then, and that’s so much more crucial then what actually happened to me.”
She added, “I’ve had the possibility to work with some of the biggest charities in the country alongside the Government, to help literally rewrite the law.” harrison emphasized that her work extends beyond her personal experience, stating, “I’ve done so much more than just standing up for what was right and winning my court case.”
Looking ahead to meeting the Royal Family, Harrison joked, “I haven’t even figured out if you’re meant to curtsy or not… I need to figure that out, because at this stage of my pregnancy, if I do that I might not get back up again!” She added she would “probably wing it like I do everything else in life.”
Harrison also shared her joy about meeting her boyfriend on a dating app. “I feel sexier with a bump,” she said, embracing this new phase of her life.
