Peruvian ‍Conglomerate alicorp Acquires Ecuadorian Soap Maker wilson Jabonia,Owner of Iconic Lava and Misty Brands

QUITO,ECUADOR ⁢- ‌October 26,2025 – Peruvian consumer ⁢goods giant Alicorp has finalized the purchase ​of 100% of the ‌shares of wilson Jabonia,the Ecuadorian ⁣company behind well-known household brands like Lava,Macho,and Misty. ⁤The transaction, initially ​announced in ⁣late 2024, ⁤marks a significant expansion ⁤for Alicorp into the ecuadorian market‍ and underscores the ⁢strengthening economic ties between⁢ Peru and Ecuador following the ‌27th anniversary of the signing of the La Paz agreement.

The acquisition builds on a history ​of bilateral⁣ trade ⁣and ⁢investment fostered by the peace accord, and ⁢represents a key strategic move​ for both companies. For Alicorp, it provides a foothold in Ecuador’s⁣ personal care,⁤ clothing, and home cleaning product ⁤sectors. For ⁢Wilson Jabonia, it offers access to Alicorp’s extensive distribution network and ​resources across seven Latin American countries.

Founded ⁢in ⁤1945,Wilson jabonia generated USD 86.9 million​ in sales revenue in 2024. The company underwent a partial split on August 1, 2025,⁣ establishing Stella Properties Sprop Sas as‌ part of the transition. ⁣Wilson Jabonia currently employs approximately 300 people and already exports to peru (since 1992), Colombia (1997), Bolivia (2020), and Chile (2021).

Alicorp’s ‍origins trace back to ‍1956, initially operating as Industrias ⁢Anderson, Clayton & Co. (ACC), ⁢focused on oils and soaps.⁢ The company​ rebranded‌ as Alicorp ⁣in 1997 after consolidating its business lines. Today, Alicorp⁤ boasts⁤ a ‌portfolio⁤ of over 150 food, home care, and personal care products.
