Britt Baker Expresses Gratitude to Fans During Extended AEW Absence
September 30, 2025 – Former AEW Women’s World Champion Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. publicly thanked her supporters on social media, acknowledging their continued loyalty during her extended time away from AEW television. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Baker contrasted the negativity often found online with the positive impact of her dedicated fanbase.
Baker’s television appearances have decreased substantially in recent years. Her last match took place in November 2024, marking a year with only five total AEW in-ring competitions – a stark difference from her breakout year in 2021, when she secured the AEW Women’s World Championship and wrestled in 30 matches. Despite the reduced schedule, Baker has repeatedly stated her intention to return to the ring.
Addressing her status directly in August, she confirmed her plans to wrestle again. AEW President Tony Khan has also commented on her absence, expressing his regard for Baker and indicating her return will coincide with the right creative opportunity. Reports have also surfaced regarding backstage matters involving Baker.
The current AEW women’s division features a new generation of stars, with Kris Statlander as the AEW Women’s World Champion and Mercedes Mone holding the TBS Championship. Baker’s message reflects a focus on the positive support she receives from fans as she navigates her time away from active competition.
We’re always so quick to burn the trolls on this app,but never quick enough to appreciate the true fans who show love every day. Thank you 🫶🏻
