Walton Goggins responds to Pete Davidson‘s Prediction of a Fan Backlash
Los Angeles, CA – Walton Goggins has directly addressed a recent prediction made by Pete Davidson that the White Lotus star is next in line for a potential “turn” in public perception. Davidson, speaking on Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast, suggested fans are speedy to build up celebrities only to swiftly move on, citing Pedro Pascal as a recent example.
“They’re gonna do it with Walton Goggins, [he] will be next,” Davidson stated, referencing the rapid shift in fan adoration.”It’s like, we build everybody up and now it’s so fast to turn. It’s within months.”
Goggins, clearly aware of the conversation - The Hollywood Reporter initially covered Davidson’s comments last week – responded via Instagram on Sunday. He began by acknowledging Davidson’s perspective, noting, “Pete we don’t know each other but I appreciate the heads up.”
However, Goggins quickly pivoted to defend his freind and colleague, Pedro Pascal. “We agree on one thing…. Pedro Pascal isn’t a good man, He’s a great man. A dear friend of mine.”
The veteran actor, 53, then offered a philosophical take on fame and its fleeting nature. ”As a 53 yr old I’m acutely aware that every experience has a shelf life. I appreciate so many of you going on this journey with me. I imagine a lot of you (and I don’t blame you) are tired of hearing my homilies. Trust me I’m tired of saying them.”
Goggins concluded by hinting at upcoming projects he feels obligated to promote, not for personal gain, but “to honor all of those that worked so hard to bring these stories to fruition.” He also subtly encouraged those who are no longer interested in his updates to simply “keep scrolling.”
