Guangzhou Award Opens Submissions for 7th Edition, Seeking Global Urban Innovation
Seoul, South Korea – The 7th Guangzhou International Award for Urban innovation (Guangzhou Award) officially launched its global call for entries on September 29, during the Metropolis Board of Directors Meeting in Seoul. The launch coincided with the 40th anniversary celebration of Metropolis.
Established in 2012 by the City of Guangzhou,the World Association of the Major metropolises (UCLG),and Metropolis,the Guangzhou Award recognizes and promotes innovative solutions to pressing urban challenges. Over its six previous iterations, the award has received more than 1,600 initiatives from cities and local governments representing over 100 countries and regions.
The Guangzhou Award aims to foster lasting urban development and international cooperation by highlighting best practices in urban governance.Guangzhou encourages cities worldwide to submit their innovative governance solutions and contribute to building a more open, inclusive, and sustainable future.
