Penn Launches “Be in the know” Wellness Campaign with On-Campus Screenings and New WebMD Partnership
PHILADELPHIA – University of pennsylvania faculty, staff, and postdocs now have access to expanded wellness resources and rewards through the 2025-2026 “Be in the Know” campaign, kicking off with on-campus biometric screenings and a mini-wellness fair on September 30th. The initiative, facilitated by Health Advocate and featuring a new partnership with WebMD, aims to empower employees to proactively manage their health and earn up to $300 in cash incentives.
the “Be in the Know” campaign runs from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026, and offers a range of tools, programs, and resources designed to support overall well-being. A key component is the confidential biometric screening, which measures blood pressure, lipids (total, HDL, and LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides), and blood sugar/glucose levels. penn assures employees that individual screening results, health assessment answers, and personal health goals will remain private and will not be shared with the university.
A special kick-off event and mini-wellness fair will be held on Tuesday, September 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Houston Hall, bodek Lounge. Attendees can meet representatives from WebMD to learn about their research-based programs and resources, as well as explore facts from other wellness partners and vendors.A prize drawing will also be available.
completing an on-campus biometric screening earns participants 1,000 points and a $50 cash incentive for the 2025-2026 campaign year. Health Advocate will automatically credit the points to the new WebMD wellness platform. To fully participate and earn additional rewards, employees are encouraged to enroll on the WebMD platform via WebMD or the “wellness at Your Side” app (connection code: Penn). Cash incentives will be added to paychecks (less applicable payroll taxes) beginning in October 2025.
