Basketball: mixed⁣ Results Mark Season Openers for Local Clubs

Villé, Epfig, and surrounding communities saw ‌a range of outcomes as basketball teams launched‌ their seasons this weekend, from decisive victories to challenging defeats.

Villé‘s senior men’s team faced a tough start, falling‌ to opponents 66-94⁢ despite a ⁤competitive first half where they trailed 34-44. Malers II also struggled, losing heavily to Eschau with a final‌ score of⁢ 44-101. Though, ⁤Villé’s female pennant team secured a triumphant readiness win against⁤ ASA/weyersheim, 73-50, after a balanced first quarter (16-16) and a strong finish with a ⁢19-1 run. The female ⁢II team also prevailed, winning a tight match in oshouse 64-62.

Additional youth⁤ scores: U18M II – Erstein: 50-93; U15F – Obernai: 39-48; U13M – Kogenheim: 26-40; U13F ‍-‌ Ohnenheim: 8-48;⁤ U11M I ⁣- Geispolsheim: 35-49; U11M II​ – ​Barr: 18-55.

Epfig‘s women’s team⁢ achieved a notable away victory against⁤ Ebersheim, 32-25, overcoming a difficult start⁣ (13-7 first quarter) and a halftime deficit (20-14) through improved defense ​and counterattacks. ⁣The men’s team also secured a win against Ohnheim II, 82-73, fueled by strong offensive ⁤play in the first quarter (24-14) and⁢ a late ‌surge led by Schaller, Lasserre, Leibel, and Chauvin.

Epfig’s youth results were: Furdenheim – ‌Benjamins I: ⁢89-38; Molsheim – Benjamins II: 50-19; Osthouse – Poussines: 10-40; ​Bruche – Cadets: 71-60; Cadets – Witternheim: 43-63;‍ Min. masc. ‍- BINDERNHEIM: 54-31.
