GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines volleyball prepares to compete in a regional pod,continuing a program steeped in championship success. The Orediggers enter the competition with a 7-2 record, seeking to build on their recent five-set victory over MSU Denver in the 2021 RMAC Tournament championship match, when the Roadrunners were ranked #1 nationally.
A key player returning to the roster is Amanda Donais Dudley, a former all-American who completed her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in spring 2022. Utilizing a year of eligibility retained due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Donais Dudley is pursuing a master’s degree in mechanical engineering while playing her final collegiate season in 2025.
The program’s legacy is further highlighted by the recent induction of five-time All-American danielle Johnson-Hazlewood into the Mines Athletics hall of Fame Class of 2025,with her official enshrinement scheduled for October 4. Johnson-Hazlewood led Mines to four consecutive RMAC regular-season titles (2012-2015) and an RMAC Tournament title in 2015.
Leading the Orediggers is head Coach Jamie Magalei,in her 18th season. Magalei boasts a career record of 372-142 (.723), the most wins and highest win percentage in program history. She has coached 31 All-Americans, three Academic All-Americans, and 66 all-conference performers. Magalei has guided Mines to six RMAC regular-season championships and five RMAC Tournament titles, with 13 consecutive NCAA tournament appearances from 2009-2022.
Mines will travel to CSU Pueblo on Friday and Colorado Christian on Saturday. Both matches will be available to stream via a subscription to the RMAC Network.
