Hostess Brands Expands Columbus Facility, Bringing New Jobs and Investment
COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Hostess Brands LLC, a subsidiary of Teh J.M. Smucker Company, is considerably expanding its manufacturing facility in columbus, Georgia, a project expected to generate 48 new jobs and over $120 million in capital investment.
Construction is already underway and slated for completion in early 2027. The expansion will encompass the construction of a new building, renovations to existing areas within the facility, and the installation of updated equipment.
The proclamation was made Monday morning by Choose Columbus, the city’s economic progress organization. Officials highlighted the expansion as a testament to Columbus’s thriving buisness habitat and the success of focusing on both attracting new industries and supporting existing ones.
“This announcement is very exciting and meaningful for columbus, GA,” a Choose Columbus representative stated. “The J.M. Smucker Company’s decision to grow here demonstrates our city is a great place to live, work and raise a family. We prioritize retaining and growing our existing industries, and this project is a direct result of that commitment.”
A spokesperson for Hostess Brands expressed gratitude for the collaboration with local officials. “We are pleased to have this possibility to expand production at our Columbus facility to meet consumer demand,” they said. “We appreciate the partnership and are excited to continue investing in our operations and employees in Columbus,a community we are proud to be a part of.”
The expansion will allow Hostess Brands to increase production of its sweet baked snacks, further solidifying its presence in the region.
