Budapest, Hungary – Assolim CN Mataro secured the top spot in their group wiht a decisive 14-10 victory over Pallanuoto Trieste, completing the field of 16 teams for the 2025/26 Champions League Women’s main group stage. Jewel Roemer’s rapid goal, scored just 17 seconds into the match, set the tone for Mataro’s dominant performance.
The win marks Mataro’s second consecutive victory against their Italian rivals and solidifies their position as a strong contender in the upcoming stages of the competition. For Trieste, the loss means thay will compete in the Euro Cup, a tournament where they have finished as runners-up in the previous two seasons. This announcement confirms the full roster of teams set too battle for the Champions League title, beginning saturday, October 25th.
