Rad World⁤ Cup 2025: ​Live Ticker for the World Cycling Championship in⁢ Rwanda

Kigali, Rwanda – The 2025 UCI Road World Championships are underway in Rwanda,⁤ culminating this weekend with the⁤ elite women’s and men’s road races.Live updates will be provided throughout both events.

The women’s race on Saturday presents​ a challenging 164.6-kilometer⁢ course with ⁣3,350 vertical meters, completed over eleven laps, including a climb up Mont Kigali and the cobblestone stretch‌ of Mur du Kigali‌ (summit at 1771 meters). The ⁤field seeks a successor to Lotte Kopecky, the ​2023 and ⁣2024 world champion, who did not start‍ due to a recent⁣ injury sustained at the tour‌ de ‍L’Ardèche. Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, winner of​ the ‌2025​ Tour‍ de France Femmes, is considered a top ⁢contender. A detailed ‌preview of the women’s favorites is available here.

On Sunday,the elite men will tackle a demanding ​267.5-kilometer course with 5,475 vertical meters. This surpasses the ​elevation ⁤gain of the 2024 Zurich‌ World Championships (4,470 meters over 273.9 kilometers) and the challenging 2018 Innsbruck course (4,670 meters over 258 kilometers).
