‘Chicago Fire’ Newcomer Welcomed by Cast with Pre-Season Dinner
Ahead of its Season 14 premiere, “Chicago Fire” extended a warm welcome to its newest member, actor Jake Larracuente, with a cast dinner hosted by veteran Daniel Kyriakos (who plays ritter). The gesture helped Larracuente quickly integrate into the established ensemble and fostered a familial atmosphere on set.
Larracuente, who joins Firehouse 51 as Sal Vasquez, shared that Kyriakos invited his wife to meet the cast, solidifying a sense of belonging before filming began. ”I invited my wife, they all met with her, and it just feels like a family,” Larracuente said. “And I was able to bond with them before stepping on set at all.” This proactive effort to include the newcomer reflects the show’s long-standing tradition of camaraderie, now entering its 13th year.
The 30-year-old actor noted the supportive environment eased any potential jitters about joining the long-running series. He described the set as “a good time,” emphasizing the balance between a lighthearted atmosphere and a dedication to professional work.”They keep it light on set. But at the same time, they respect the work. And when it comes time to work, they show up prepared and whatnot,” Larracuente explained to NBC Insider.
Larracuente credits the cast’s inclusive approach with helping him adjust to the demands of the show. “They’ve all done their part equally in helping me adjust to the new experience of the show,” he said, adding that enjoying the company of his colleagues makes his job easier.
