Meryl Streep and Anna Wintour Spotted together as ‘Devil Wears Prada’ Sequel Films in milan
Milan, Italy – Meryl Streep, reprising her iconic role as Miranda Priestly, and Anna Wintour, Vogue’s editor-in-chief, were seen together today following the Dolce & gabbana spring 2026 show, signaling active production on the highly anticipated sequel to The Devil Wears Prada. The unexpected reunion, captured in a video circulating online, shows Streep playfully telling Wintour, “You look so stunning,” and jokingly stating, “this is my frist fashion show.”
The sighting confirms ongoing filming for the sequel, which will address the challenges facing print magazines in a rapidly evolving media landscape. The original 2006 film became a cultural touchstone, offering a satirical look at the high-fashion world and the demanding nature of its leadership. This follow-up promises to revisit those themes while exploring the industry’s current struggles, and will feature the return of Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs and Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton.
According to the Associated Press, Stanley Tucci was also present, appearing in costume as Nigel Kipling, Runway’s art director, and greeted Wintour backstage. The production team was in Milan specifically to film runway footage for the movie.
The sequel will see Emily Charlton, played by Blunt, evolve into a powerful advertising executive working with the struggling publication. Wintour recently shared her thoughts on the original film with The New Yorker Radio Hour podcast, stating, “First of all, it was Meryl Streep, which, fantastic… it was very funny.” She added that she and Miuccia Prada often discuss the film, noting its positive impact on the Prada brand.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is currently slated for release on May 1, 2026.
