IDF Intensifies gaza Operations, Declares Control Over Half of Gaza City, Demands Hamas Disarmament and Hostage Release
Gaza City – Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) operations are intensifying in Gaza City, prompting the evacuation of over 750,000 residents to the south of the enclave, as the military moves to dismantle Hamas infrastructure and secure control of the territory. The IDF has stated that the complete destruction of Gaza and the elimination of Hamas are contingent upon the terror groupS disarmament and the unconditional return of all hostages.
The escalating conflict, dubbed Operation Gideon’s Chariots II, comes as the IDF assesses it has gained operational control of more than half of Gaza City as of Saturday.This advance follows the destruction of what IDF officials have termed “terror towers” – Gaza City high rises – linked to Hamas infrastructure, demolished early in the operation to target the group’s last remaining stronghold.The situation has created a humanitarian crisis with a massive displacement of civilians and raises concerns about the future of the region should Hamas refuse to meet the IDF’s demands.
During the operations, the IDF has focused on destroying terror infrastructure within the city. military officials have directly connected these targets to high rises in Gaza City, justifying their demolition as a necesary step in dismantling Hamas’s command and control capabilities.
According to sources within the IDF’s Southern Command, the territorial gains are the result of coordinated maneuvers by multiple divisions. The IDF maintains that these actions are aimed at neutralizing the threat posed by Hamas and securing the safety of Israeli citizens.
