Louis Vuitton’s Latest beauty Campaign Draws⁢ Inspiration From Roaring Twenties Art Deco

Paris – Louis Vuitton’s⁢ newest beauty line and a concurrent exhibition are steeped in ‌teh aesthetic of the 1920s ‍Art Deco movement, signaling⁢ a deliberate embrace of heritage and long-term brand⁢ building. The ⁢luxury house is showcasing the influence of the era, from⁤ its architectural motifs to ‌its spirit of innovation, across both its cosmetic offerings and a dedicated display ‍currently‌ captivating audiences.

the connection to Art Deco isn’t merely ⁤stylistic; it reflects⁢ a strategic shift in perspective, according to ‌Ian Rodgers, ⁢Chief Experience Officer at Ledger, formerly Chief Digital Officer at LVMH and instrumental in the launch of Apple Music. ⁣Rodgers described on a recent podcast ‍how he initially found the company’s “100 year ⁤time⁤ horizon” for brand‍ consideration surprising, but quickly understood “that the brand is the asset” and a long-term vision is essential. This philosophy is demonstrably present in Louis Vuitton’s current creative‌ direction.

The exhibition features a reconstruction of Louis Vuitton’s 1925 stand at the landmark Art Déco exhibition, alongside archival materials from‍ the decade. These historical pieces are presented in conversation with contemporary designs, including⁢ Nicolas Ghesquière’s 2020 cruise collection – inspired by New York’s Art⁣ Deco architecture‌ – and‍ collections from Men’s Creative Director Pharrell Williams, as well as designs by Marc Jacobs and Kim Jones, all echoing⁢ the energy of the Jazz Age. ‍The beauty line itself incorporates geometric patterns and luxurious materials reminiscent of the period, extending the‍ Art Deco influence into a ‍new product category.
