Family Dispute in Betzdorf Leaves Three Injured,Suspect at Large
Betzdorf,Germany – September 26,2025 – A violent altercation between family members in Betzdorf,Rhineland-Palatinate,has left a 61-year-old woman,a 41-year-old man,and a 14-year-old girl with injuries. Authorities are currently searching for a 66-year-old suspect who fled the scene on foot.
The incident, which unfolded earlier today, involves individuals connected through separation and extended family ties. The injured woman is the estranged wife of the suspect, while the man and teenage girl are relatives. Police have indicated the suspect was armed with a knife and, while they believe the risk to the general public is low given the domestic nature of the crime, caution remains paramount.
According to a police statement, the 66-year-old suspect remains at large in Betzdorf and the surrounding areas. ”It cannot be ruled out that the fleeing perpetrator still leads the weapon, a knife,” authorities stated. They are urging residents not to approach the suspect if encountered. “The police urgently advise against addressing the person,” they warned.
