Gastro Japo Food Week 2025 Celebrates Japanese Cuisine with 40 Participating Establishments
The Japa Gastro Club is hosting Gastro Japo Food Week, a ten-day event dedicated to showcasing the breadth of Japanese cuisine, from traditional wagashi and yogashi to Western-style pastries with Japanese inspiration. This year’s event features specially designed menus at participating locations.
Bistro Tokyo, for example, is offering dishes like Daigaku Imo (sweet sweet potato with black sesame), Ganmodaki (Tofu Mini Hamburger), Kushikatsu (fried skewers in japanese Panko), pickles, sushi, and cocktails featuring sake and green tea.
A new addition to this year’s event is POP UPS COLLABORATIVE, where different participants will join forces to offer unique menus combining their styles and specialties. The Japa Gastro Club aims to recreate the atmosphere of a Japanese Izakaya, “where colleagues and friends come together after work to relax, chat and enjoy good food.”
The event has been recognized for its cultural contribution, being declared an Event of Cultural Interest by the Legislature of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
Gastro Japo Food week also includes an international component, with a Japanese business mission organized by the International Cooperation Agency of Japan (JICA). This mission aims to strengthen gastronomic and commercial ties between Japan and Argentina,presenting key products like Sake,whiskey,soy sauce,and vinegars to local entrepreneurs and distributors.
The event has the support of the Cultural and Informative Center of the Japan embassy in Argentina. “We want more Argentines to discover the richness of our culture through food. Each dish, each sake cup, is a way of bringing Japan closer to everyone’s table,” stated the Club President of Gastro Japo.
This year, 40 restaurants, coffee shops, pastries and delivery services are participating, offering special menus and activities. Alongside Kira beer, these 40 establishments form the core of the Gastro Japo Food Week experiance.
