Rosamond Man Convicted of First-Degree murder in 2020 Shooting
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (October 27, 2025) – A Kern County jury has found Raffi Daniellian guilty of first-degree murder for the 2020 shooting death of Lavel Myers in Rosamond, stemming from a dispute over a broken window. Daniellian, 50 years to life, was sentenced today, October 27, 2025.
The incident occurred on October 19,2020,at a residence on Grandview Terrace in Rosamond. According to the Kern County District Attorney’s Office, Daniellian went to Myers’ home to confront him about the damage.
Evidence presented at trial, including doorbell camera footage, showed Daniellian waiting at the front door for over two minutes, repeatedly ringing the doorbell. After being acknowledged by Myers, Daniellian proceeded to the back patio and instantly demanded payment for the broken window. Within seconds, authorities say,Daniellian fired eight shots at the 25-year-old victim, resulting in his death. The footage also captured Daniellian fleeing the scene with a firearm.
Daniellian initially pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity in 2022. Following a verdict of first-degree murder on September 17, 2025, a sanity phase of the trial commenced, with both the defence and prosecution presenting expert testimony. On September 25, 2025, the jury determined that Daniellian was legally sane at the time of the murder.
“Daniellian’s premeditated killing demands full accountability with the appropriate prison sentence,” stated District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer. “I am grateful to the jury for their careful deliberation and for acknowledging the gravity of his actions in taking an innocent life.”
Consequently of the sanity finding,Daniellian will serve his sentence in the California Department of Corrections, rather than a mental health facility.
