Bloober team Delves⁢ Deep into⁢ Polish Roots with New Horror Game, Cronos: The ‍New dawn

Krakow, Poland - Polish game developer Bloober team’s latest title, Cronos:⁤ The New Dawn, released today on PC and consoles, marks a notable deepening of the studio’s commitment to showcasing it’s homeland within its immersive horror experiences.⁤ The game is ‍set in a ⁤hauntingly recreated district of Krakow, a⁤ intentional choice reflecting a recurring theme in bloober Team’s work.

Narrative ‌Lead Grzegorz,in a recent interview, revealed ‌the studio’s growing tendency to incorporate polish settings. “At some point ⁤we realized that we have become experts in putting⁢ Poland into all our⁢ games,” he stated, noting previous references in The Observer and The Medium, which featured recreations of krakow rental farms and a hotel, respectively. ‍ Cronos, however, represents the most ⁣aspiring undertaking yet, with the entire district serving as the game’s backdrop.

the decision ⁤to ⁢ground Cronos so firmly in a specific Polish locale is deeply personal for Grzegorz, a native⁤ of the area. He recounted his mother’s ⁤reaction to⁣ the game’s trailer: “Why did you do⁣ it? ‍It was⁢ such a beautiful city, and then you destroyed it.” He countered, referencing ‍David Lynch, “in the⁣ big darkness, it ⁢is the little ‌sparks of beauty that shine the most.”

Grzegorz explained the setting’s aesthetic suitability, highlighting ⁢the confluence of⁢ brutalist architecture, “cassette futurism,” and communist-era Soviet social realism. He believes these elements blend seamlessly with the game’s themes⁢ and technology.

Cronos: The new Dawn is ‍now available for purchase. A full interview with‍ Grzegorz providing further insight into the game’s development ⁢and inspirations can be found [link to interview].
