“One Hundred Thousand” Concert to Tackle Violence Against Women, Raises Awareness for Gaza
Naples is set to host the third edition of “One Hundred Thousand,” a powerful concert series dedicated to combating violence against women. The event, taking place in Piazza Plebiscito, will feature a star-studded lineup including Fiorella Mannoia (honorary president), Annalisa, Aries, Bigmama, bruori Sas, Coez, Elisa, Elodie, Emma, Ermal Meta, Anna Foglietta, Francesca michielin, Francesco Gabbani, Gaia, Gigi D’Alessio, Malika Ayane, Noemi, Paola Turci, Rkiomi, Rose Villain, adn Veronica Gentili, hosted by Amadeus. The concert will be broadcast on Canale 5 in the coming days.
beyond the music, ”One Hundred Thousand” aims to create tangible change. Approximately €500,000, raised through public support and partnerships, will be donated to a dozen Italian anti-violence centers, selected based on their project proposals, established work, and demonstrated needs. Furthermore,a masterclass will be launched in collaboration with the Campania Region,designed to empower local associations and institutions to prioritize addressing gender-based violence.
Fiorella Mannoia emphasized the ongoing need for dialogue and action, stating, ”It is a problem that unfortunately still does not see solutions.But it is vital to continue talking about it, trying to do everyone their part.”
Gigi D’Alessio, also present at the press conference, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, announcing he will preview his new song Philomes, dedicated to the iconic character Filumena Marturano.
During the press conference, Mannoia also addressed the ongoing crisis in gaza, expressing deep concern for the children affected. She urged collective responsibility and outspokenness, stating, “It is a commitment that we must take everyone…we can no longer keep silent, it is the moment that each of us must take a position and must say where the governments do not arrive.” Mannoia consistently wears a Palestinian flag pin as a visible symbol of her solidarity,adding,”What is happening in front of the eyes of the world is also a test. Today it was up to them, tomorrow it could touch us, if nobody stops this violence.”
