Swimming and Diving: Richmond Ranked Second in Atlantic 10 Preview

RICHMOND, VA – The⁣ Richmond Spiders women’s swimming and diving team is poised for ⁤a strong⁢ showing this season, having been selected second in the Atlantic ​10 preseason Poll ‌released Wednesday. The team’s anticipated success builds​ on a stellar performance at ⁣last year’s‌ A-10 Championships, where they secured ‍second place overall.

The Spiders’ ‌ranking reflects their returning​ talent and recent achievements.Richmond finished⁢ as the⁤ A-10 ‌runner-up in 2023, highlighted by eight medal finishes-including gold medals in ⁣the 200-medley relay, 200-free relay, 400-free relay, and‌ the 50 free.This season, the team will rely ‌on the scoring power of ‍returning A-10 Championship standouts lena Amare,⁣ Gabbie primiano, Presley ​Baber, and Katie‍ Chignell.

George Washington topped⁣ the poll, receiving ‌seven of⁣ the ten first-place votes and totaling 97 points. Richmond garnered two‍ first-place votes⁣ and⁣ accumulated 90 points to secure⁣ the ​second position. Duquesne followed in‌ third with 83 points.
