Bruins Extend Preseason Win Streak with 5-4 Overtime Victory Against Rangers, Ločmelis Contributes
New York, NY - The Boston Bruins continued their strong preseason form with a 5-4 overtime win against the New York Rangers on Wednesday night. Forward Kristians Ločmelis played a significant role,registering one assist and finishing the game with a +1 efficiency rating.

Elsewhere in the NHL preseason action, Rodrigo Ābola and the Philadelphia Flyers fell to the Montreal Canadiens 4-2. Ābola played 13:22 minutes in the second line, recording three shots, blocking two, and receiving two penalty minutes. Montreal secured the win with a late goal from Arber Xhekaj 14 seconds before the final buzzer.
Zemgus Girgensons of the Tampa Bay Lightning contributed to a 3-2 shootout victory over the Nashville Predators. Girgensons played 15:04 minutes, taking two shots on goal and finishing with a +1 efficiency rating. Boris Katchouk scored the decisive goal in the shootout. The Lightning will next play the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday, September 27.
Both Elvis Merzlikins (Columbus Blue Jackets) and Eduards Tralmak (Detroit Red Wings) were not included in their respective team lineups for Wednesday’s games.
