Ubisoft Announces ‘The Burning Lands’ Expansion for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Centering on Na’vi Veteran’s Quest for Revenge
REDWOOD CITY, CA - May 14, 2024 – Ubisoft today unveiled The Burning Lands, a new expansion for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, set to launch after the events of the main game. The expansion casts players as So’lek, a veteran warrior of the TRR’ong Clan, as he confronts a devastating alliance between the RDA and the Ash Clan, resulting in widespread destruction and displacement of the Sarentu people.
The expansion’s narrative stems from a shocking turn of events: the RDA, seemingly defeated, has forged a covenant with the traditionally independent Ash Clan. This alliance has enabled the RDA to reignite its operations on Pandora, culminating in the intentional burning of a vast region and forcing countless sarentu to flee thier homes. The Burning Lands will explore the fallout of this betrayal, placing So’lek at the center of a desperate fight to protect his loved ones and exact retribution against those responsible.
ubisoft’s reveal, accompanied by a cinematic trailer, showcases So’lek’s journey through a ravaged landscape, highlighting new gameplay mechanics and environments. The expansion promises to delve deeper into the complex political landscape of Pandora, exploring the motivations behind the Ash Clan’s decision and the consequences of their partnership with the RDA. Players can expect to engage in intense combat, utilize new skills and equipment, and forge alliances with other Na’vi clans to overcome the encroaching threat.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was released in December 2023 and has sold over 9 million units as of February 2024. The Burning Lands expansion is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A specific release date has not yet been announced.
