Magallanes Navigators Announce Pitching rotations for October and November
Caracas, Venezuela – The Magallanes Navigators have revealed their projected pitching rotations for October and November as they prepare for the upcoming season of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP). The announcements were made by Navigators’ manager Federico Rojas, signaling a blend of established arms and developing prospects.
The initial October rotation will feature Junior Guerra, Ricardo Sánchez, Zach Plesac, Leonardo Taveras, and Luis Martínez. For november, the team anticipates Junior Guerra, Ricardo Sánchez, Jonny Cuevas, José Suárez, and Bryan eyes will take the mound. Rojas emphasized that the order is not definitive and will be subject to change as the season progresses, with plans to integrate additional young talent later in the rotation.
“It is not a definite order. We will see more in the rotation. We believe that it has the potential to look in that role. Suarez will join the middle of November. We are working to add some young pieces that will join the final part of the rotation,” Rojas stated.
The Navigators are also eyeing prospects Ángel bastard, recovering from tommy John surgery, and left-handed pitcher Juan Amarante, who recorded a 4.34 ERA with 74 strikeouts in 76 innings between a rookie league and Class A. Additionally, José Olivares, a right-handed pitcher with 21 starts in advanced class, is awaiting permission from the Minnesota Twins to join the team. Nivaldo Rodríguez and Enmanuel de Jesús are potential options, contingent on their contractual situations and willingness to leave their current engagements in Asia.
Rojas highlighted the strong relationship with the St. Louis Cardinals, which facilitated the signings of plesac and Taveras. “They have behaved greatly, trusting in great way what we are doing. All of that facilitated the firm of players like Plesac and Taveras, who have great references,” he said.
