Black Ops 7 Overhauls Weapon Camo System,Promises Easier Unlocks
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to dramatically revise it’s weapon camo system, making unlocks more accessible for players across all game modes. Details released following a recent multiplayer deep dive announcement reveal critically important changes aimed at addressing past frustrations with camo challenges.
Previously a point of contention for many players, unlocking the nine military-level camos will now require only 80 headshots per weapon. Specific weapon types will have tailored requirements: shotguns necessitate point-blank kills, while sniper rifles demand One Shot Kills. The update also introduces three Special Camos per weapon, up from two, and removes the previous restriction requiring players to unlock five Military Camos before equipping Universal Camos.
“There are now three Special Camos per weapon instead of two,” developers stated. “You can now equip any Universal Camo to any weapon; the previous requirement of having to unlock five Military Camos on the Weapon before equipping a Universal Camo has been removed.”
Further enhancements include additional camo unlocks tied to Weapon Prestiges and a re-evaluation of Warzone Camo Challenges, which will be “more reasonable” to complete. Camos will remain unlockable across Co-Op Campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone.
players will also be able to unlock three unique Universal Camos per weapon by progressing through Black Ops 7’s Weapon Prestige system, alongside new weekly and seasonal challenges offering further camo opportunities.
