Tom Holland Sustains Mild Concussion on ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘ Set
Glasgow, Scotland – Tom Holland suffered a mild concussion while filming “Spider-Man: brand New Day” in Glasgow on Friday, Variety has confirmed. production has been temporarily paused as the actor recovers.
Holland is expected to take a brief hiatus from filming and return to set within a few days.Sony Pictures, the film’s primary producer alongside Marvel Studios, will convene on Monday to determine the revised production schedule. thankfully, no other cast or crew members were injured during the incident.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” commenced filming in early August and is slated for theatrical release on July 31, 2025. Last month, Sony offered fans a frist look at Holland back in the Spider-Man suit, marking his return to the role after 2021’s critically acclaimed “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”
In a video released alongside the footage, Holland expressed his excitement about the new project, noting, “It’s day one, my fourth ever day one on ‘Spider-Man.’ It’s funny, putting the suit on, it feels different this time, somehow. It’s also the first time we ever had fans on set day one, so it’s really exciting to share this with them.”
The film boasts a mix of returning and new faces.Zendaya and Jacob Batalon reprise their roles, while newcomers Liza Colon-zayas (“The Bear”), Tramell Tillman (“Severance”), and Sadie Sink (“Stranger Things”) join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.Mark Ruffalo will return as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, alongside Jon Bernthal as the Punisher and Michael Mando (“Spider-Man: Homecoming”) as the Scorpion.
