Cyberpunk 2077 Mod Delivers Hyper-Realistic Gore, Transforming Night City into a “Playable Gore anime”
Night City, [Date of Publication] – A new mod for Cyberpunk 2077, titled Gorerunner, is dramatically increasing the game’s violence, pushing it beyond the base game’s realism into what its creator describes as “comic, almost caricatured violence.” developed by Cazanu and available now on Nexus Mods, Steam, Epic Games, and GOG, Gorerunner features a wholly redesigned dynamic blood splatter system with 70 unique splashes that react to weapon type, impact angle, and affected body area.
The mod introduces a level of graphic detail previously unseen in Cyberpunk 2077. Small caliber weapons produce thin blood sprays, while heavy weapons generate “real blood walls.” Katanas leave distinct trails before unleashing “wild sheaves” of blood, and severed limbs continue to bleed realistically on the ground, leaving trails as enemies attempt to flee.
While not yet perfect, Cazanu acknowledges some animation bugs – including “bizarre sliding body pieces” and occasionally stretched blood splatters – and is actively working on fixes.
