Drug Dealer & Brother Jailed: Newcastle Assault Over £300 Debt

Newcastle‍ Brothers Jailed‍ After Knife Threat Over ‍Debt

Newcastle, UK – Two brothers ⁤from Newcastle have ⁢been sentenced following ‌a terrifying confrontation with a man over a £300 debt, and a⁤ separate incident‍ involving drug dealing.⁢ jordan Lockyer, 39, was jailed ⁣for two years⁤ at Newcastle Crown Court, while his​ brother, Liam Lockyer,⁣ 33, received a suspended sentence.

On March 18,2023,the Lockyer brothers went too a​ man’s girlfriend’s ‍house intending to collect the money. Jordan lockyer pursued ⁢the man around the house brandishing ‌a small silver knife, repeatedly jabbing it ⁤towards him and threatening to “slash” him⁤ and his​ relatives if the debt wasn’t paid. Liam Lockyer waited outside during the incident. ⁣The ⁤victim ‌stated he was⁢ left “extremely fearful”⁤ for his life⁤ and is now ⁤seeking to move away from the area.

the incident followed an⁣ earlier encounter with police on April 1, 2022, when‌ officers‍ observed a suspected ⁢drug‍ deal taking‌ place in the Elswick ⁢Road area ‌of Newcastle. Liam Lockyer was driving a ‍VW Golf when officers stopped the vehicle, discovering a bag of white ​powder and approximately ​£434‌ in cash. A subsequent search of Liam ⁤Lockyer’s home revealed more drugs, including cocaine and dozens of ‌prescription tablets hidden in a⁢ beer ‍can, with a total estimated value between £1,300 and £2,350. Analysis ⁢of ‍his phone showed evidence ⁣of arranging drug deals.

Both brothers pleaded guilty​ to ‍affray.Liam lockyer‌ also admitted⁤ possession with intent to supply Class A and C⁢ drugs.

In mitigation, Tony Davis explained ⁣Liam ⁤Lockyer ⁤developed a drug addiction following cancer ‍treatment. Josh Cornberg, representing‌ Jordan ‌Lockyer, noted his client had already served​ the equivalent of a full sentence while ​on remand.

Judge Carolyn⁣ Scott described the confrontation ​as a “terrifying incident” with a “profound” effect⁢ on the victim, and⁤ stated Liam Lockyer was‍ the “catalyst” ‌for his ⁢brother’s actions.
