Starbucks App Glitch prevents Survey Completion,Workaround Discovered
Starbucks app users are encountering a bug that prevents them from completing required surveys after placing orders, effectively blocking access to the app’s full functionality. the issue, first reported on September 18, 2025, impacts customers reliant on the app for mobile ordering and rewards. A workaround has emerged: users can bypass the glitch by long-pressing the Starbucks app icon on their Home Screen and selecting “Order” rather of directly opening the application.
The bug’s emergence raises questions about Starbucks’ quality assurance processes, as a fundamental flaw slipped into a widely-used customer-facing application. While Starbucks has not yet officially addressed the issue, the workaround offers a temporary solution for customers eager to utilize mobile ordering and rewards. The glitch underscores the increasing reliance on app functionality for quick-service restaurants and the potential disruption caused by even minor software errors.
One Twitter user, @AbileneIke, shared the workaround on September 18, 2025, along with a plea to Starbucks to reinstate the previous straw placement within stores, citing barista convenience.
“To bypass the dreaded starbucks App survey bug,you can hold yoru finger down on the app from the home Screen and choose ‘order,'” @AbileneIke posted. “P.S. Please move the straws back where they were. No one, especially your baristas, wants them behind the counter.”
