The team, fielding a rotating cast of drivers this season, saw their momentum halted as they struggled to complete the event.
The DNF marks a setback for JD Motorsports, a smaller team consistently working to improve its performance and secure a stable position in the competitive Cup Series landscape. this season, the no. 66 Ford has been piloted by several drivers, including Casey Mears (two starts), David Starr, Joey Gase, Timmy Hill (one start each), and most recently, Chandler Smith, who attempted to qualify for the daytona 500 but was unsuccessful.
