WINDSOR, U.K. – Prince William held a private meeting with former President Donald Trump at windsor Castle on Wednesday, as Trump continues ⁤his visit to the United ⁣kingdom. the meeting occurred ahead of‌ a state banquet hosted by King⁣ charles III,marking ⁤a significant⁢ moment during Trump’s trip ⁣and adding ​a layer of diplomatic engagement to the event.

The encounter between the Prince⁢ of Wales and the former U.S. President comes as⁣ Trump attends the opulent state banquet, a guest list ‌of over 160 including U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Trump’s daughter Tiffany Trump and her husband Michael​ Boulos. While ‍details of the private⁢ discussion ​have not been released, the meeting underscores the ⁤ongoing⁣ relationship between the British Royal Family and prominent ‍figures on the global stage.

The state visit​ has⁣ not been without its critics. Ed Davey, leader of ⁣the U.K.’s Liberal Democrat party,announced he would boycott the state banquet to protest the humanitarian crisis in ⁢Gaza. ​”There is no⁤ honor like an invitation‍ from the King, and⁢ not to accept his invitation goes against ⁤all of our instincts,” ‍Davey said, per the⁢ BBC. “But ‌I fear we could have a⁤ situation where donald Trump comes to our⁢ country, is honoured with a lavish dinner at​ one of our finest palaces, ‍yet no one reminds him that he has‍ the power to stop the horrifying‌ starvation‌ and death in Gaza and​ get​ the hostages released.” Davey further stated that boycotting the​ banquet was “the one⁤ way I ‌can send a ⁤message to Donald Trump and Keir Starmer that they​ can’t close their eyes‍ and wish this away.”
