Felt like home’: Billings Central’s William Snell talks Griz football commitment

BILLINGS, Mont.‌ — Billings Central⁣ Rams senior william Snell⁢ has ⁢committed‍ to ⁤play football for the University of Montana Grizzlies, becoming ⁣a‍ key addition to⁤ the program’s recruiting class. The ​declaration solidifies Snell’s⁤ goal of ‌playing Division I athletics while ‌remaining in-state and close to ‌family.

Snell’s decision comes after a standout​ career at Billings Central, ‌where he⁤ earned all-state Class A honors ⁢last season as both a wide ‍receiver and⁢ cornerback. He was also a first-team Eastern A all-conference ⁤selection at both positions, contributing to the Rams’ Class ⁣A state championship run. his commitment signals‍ a continued pipeline of montana talent staying within the state for their collegiate careers.

through three games this season, ‍Snell has demonstrated his versatility, recording two receiving touchdowns, one rushing touchdown, and a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against Havre in week‍ two.​ Defensively, he has two interceptions, ⁢proving a challenge for opposing quarterbacks.

“Always ⁣growing up, wanting‌ to play division I sports, and then growing up ⁤and getting to‌ high‌ school ⁣I have⁤ always wanted to stay in state and always wanted to stay close to home,” Snell saeid. “I went on a few visits there and the​ Griz just seemed like ⁢a good option for me,and I felt like it was home.It’s just the way they go⁤ about themselves and the atmosphere,I love the gameday experience,I went down there for the Central Washington game. Just the way they treat ⁣me, not even just me but⁣ also ‌my family, they are just so⁤ welcoming, ⁣and I just thought that was ⁤awesome.” He added, “I have made big improvements so ⁤far from last year, just with speed, size and everything.”

Beyond football,‍ Snell is a decorated track athlete, having won the state A boys⁣ 400-meter dash title last spring,​ showcasing his exceptional speed and⁣ athleticism.
