Lindenwood Women’s Golf Finishes 7th in Brittany Kelly Classic

ST.CHARLES, MO – Lindenwood ‌University’s women’s ‍golf ⁢team concluded competition at the Brittany⁣ Kelly Classic on Tuesday, ​September 12, 2023, ⁣with jamie Daniels leading ​the Lions with a 16th-place finish.​ The two-day tournament, hosted at par-72 Bogey Club at Stonebridge in Kansas City, Missouri, ⁢saw Lindenwood compete against a field of ​NCAA Division I opponents.

The Brittany ⁢Kelly Classic serves ‌as an early-season benchmark‌ for the Lions, providing valuable competitive experience against a‍ higher level ⁢of ⁤competition as‌ they prepare ‌for the remainder ⁣of their fall schedule. Performance in these ⁢tournaments helps refine team strategy and individual player‍ development. The​ event’s results contribute to​ the team’s regional rankings and potential⁣ postseason qualification.

Daniels carded rounds of 76,77,and 77 for a total score,while⁢ Meredith Colby and Andrea ⁢Alvarez​ both⁣ tied for 33rd⁣ place with scores of 232. Colby’s scores⁤ were 78, 77, and 82, and Alvarez finished with 75,⁢ 85,⁣ and 77. Sophia Lefler secured 35th place with a total of ⁣238 (79, 80, 79), and Paula Mariana Sanchez finished 40th at 239 (81, 78, 82). Isabella ​Buckley⁣ tied for ⁣43rd with a score of 243 (86, 79, 78). ⁤Alvarez competed as an individual.

The Lions will continue ⁤their fall season at the Butler Fall Invite ⁣in Indiana on September 29-30.
