The Prince’s trip to the Ukrainian capital focused on highlighting the work of the Invictus Games Foundation and celebrating the recovery of veterans injured during the war with Russia, which began three years ago. He stated, “Nobody should feel embarrassed or ashamed about their disabilities,” advocating for a shift “from sympathy to admiration and respect.” he described the conflict as “all so unnecessary.”
Harry also discussed the personal impact of his work with Invictus, stating it gave him a renewed “purpose” after leaving the military and “saved me.” He revealed he uses boxing as a stress reliever, and addressed the emotional toll of recent years, saying some events have been “very stressful” and he had been “finding out certain things that have really, really hurt.”
