Shelter-in-Place Order Issued Near Vollmer Road in Tinley Park

Tinley Park, Ill. – A widespread police search is underway in ‍Tinley park and surrounding communities Monday ‌morning⁣ for ‍five suspects believed to be armed, authorities ⁢reported. One suspect is currently in custody.

The manhunt, a joint ​effort ‌between⁢ Tinley Park and ⁤Matteson police departments, began following a vehicle crash​ at the intersection of Harlem avenue and vollmer Road. ⁢The suspects ‌fled the scene⁣ on‍ foot heading westbound,⁣ prompting⁤ a shelter-in-place order for residents ‌in the immediate vicinity of Harlem Avenue and Vollmer Road in Frankfort Square. ​The Will County Sheriff’s Office is urging residents to remain ⁢indoors with locked doors while the⁤ inquiry continues.

Police initiated the search after receiving⁢ reports of individuals ​wearing black clothing. Details remain limited as ​the investigation unfolds, but authorities are actively pursuing the remaining suspects.Will ​County spokesperson Kevin Hedemark is providing ‌updates as they become ⁣available.
