Kerala Election Commission Reconciles 2002 and 2025 Voter Lists Today
Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala State Election commission is undertaking a central verification process today to reconcile voter lists from 2002 and 2025 as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. This process follows the release of public instructions to confirm the proper naming of tables used in the revision.
The IT cellS objective is to determine changes in voter numbers and constituency delineations. The current list contains 53.25 lakh voters, exceeding the 2002 roll. Verification is expected to be completed within two days. The Commission emphasized that simply completing the online ‘enemarization’ form and submitting documents is insufficient; further steps will be initiated when the SIR schedule is formally announced.
Discrepancies between the two tables, including polling booth and part-serial numbers, are attributed to the reorganization of Assembly constituencies after 2002. Individuals listed in a particular constituency in 2002 may find themselves assigned to a different constituency in the updated rolls due to these changes.
