Brazil launched their Men’s Volleyball World Championship campaign with a hard-fought four-set victory over China, earning a crucial three points in Pool H standings. The win marks a positive start for the Brazilian team as they vie for a spot in the elimination rounds.
The result places Brazil alongside Czechia, who earlier on Sunday delivered a stunning upset against serbia with a decisive 3-0 win (25-22, 25-23, 25-20), also accumulating three points. Key Performances Drive Brazil to Victory
Artur Bento, the young outside hitter, led Brazil’s offensive charge with an remarkable 17 points, comprised of 15 kills, one block, and one ace. judson Nunes, a middle blocker, contributed substantially with 14 points (ten kills, four blocks), while opposite Alan de Souza added 13 points (12 kills and one block) to the tally.
Ricardo Lucarelli and Flávio Gualberto also proved pivotal, both reaching double digits with ten points apiece.
“It was a great way to start the tournament,” said Lucarelli after the match. “It was a pretty tough match. China did a lot of different things when compared to the matches we played them in the Volleyball Nations League,and it took us a little too long to understand it and adjust. We didn’t start the match at our usual level, but once our serving got better, we got more comfortable and began to play in the way we wanted.”
