TV4 Profile Siroun Forsberg Targeted in Facebook Fraud Scheme
STOCKHOLM – TV4 personality Siroun Forsberg was recently the victim of a sophisticated fraud scheme involving fake facebook Marketplace ads and misused Swish payments, impacting dozens of individuals who believed they were assisting her.
The fraudster exploited Forsberg’s identity by posting advertisements on Facebook Marketplace offering furniture at drastically reduced prices, even including her home address. simultaneously, the perpetrator contacted approximately 43 of Forsberg’s friends requesting Swish payments ranging from SEK 2,500 to SEK 4,500, falsely claiming the funds were needed for assistance.
“Then there were people outside with a trailer who would pick up sofa and appliances, which of course were very awkward,” Forsberg explained, detailing the fallout from the fraudulent ads. Some individuals who were deceived responded with abusive language, demanding refunds.”It was crap,” she added.
Forsberg is unsure of the total number of people defrauded through the Facebook ads but expressed deep concern for those affected. “My heart breaks for anyone who has gotten rid of money,” she said. She has as filed a police report.
This incident is part of a wider trend of “Swish beds,” as police have previously warned about similar scams where fraudsters impersonate individuals online to solicit money from their contacts. Authorities urge vigilance when receiving requests for funds via social media, even from known contacts.
