Christian Siriano Transforms Macy’s into a Dreamscape for I.N.C. debut
New York,NY - Christian Siriano delivered a moment of pure fashion fantasy this week,unveiling his first collection as creative director of Macy’s private label,I.N.C. Originally slated for an outdoor presentation at Herald Square, the show was deftly moved indoors, a last-minute pivot Siriano embraced wholeheartedly. “This is exactly what I really wanted,” the designer shared, opting for an intimate, “salon-style” experience.
And a dreamscape it was. The lower level of Macy’s flagship store was transformed wiht plush bone carpeting and cascading white hydrangeas, creating an immersive atmosphere Siriano described as “somewhere else for 20 minutes.” The setting proved the perfect backdrop for a collection that transported a star-studded audience – including Whoopi Goldberg, Oprah Winfrey, and Lizzo – too a glamorous, reimagined old Hollywood, filtered through Siriano’s signature ’80s flair.
The collection itself was a playful exploration of shape and texture. Model Coco Rocha opened the show in a bold, statement-making ensemble: a flying saucer hat paired with a skirt suit that exuberantly clashed stripes and polka dots – a trend quickly gaining momentum on the New York runways.Voluminous velvet skirts, adorned with taffeta poufs, added a dramatic, sculptural element.
While Siriano is known for his eveningwear, and this collection didn’t disappoint. Sinuous gowns in laminated lace and metallized silk offered Oscar-worthy elegance, especially a stunning white chiffon gown featuring crystals delicately lining a boned corset. Men’s tailoring also received the Siriano treatment, with
