Chelyabinsk Anniversary Celebrations: Events, Food & Fireworks

Chelyabinsk Gears ⁤Up for 289th Anniversary with Food, Festivities, and Fireworks

Chelyabinsk, Russia – Chelyabinsk is preparing for a city-wide⁢ festivity marking⁣ its 289th anniversary, promising⁤ a vibrant program of gastronomic experiences, colorful parades, and open-air concerts. The festivities will‌ unfold throughout the city, culminating in a impressive fireworks display over the Miass River.

The heart of the celebration ‌will be⁣ the “Dishes from the Greek” gastronomic festival,‌ hosted in the Garden of Stones and Art Scavenging. Featuring 30 chefs from the Southern Urals, the festival will offer a diverse array of culinary creations⁤ alongside a full cultural program. Performing artists include “Balalaika Brothers,” ⁤the female trio Yaml,⁢ the Grim brothers group,​ and singer ‍Akmal.

Earlier in the ⁤day, a costume parade will commence on the Miass River embankment, accompanied by a waterborne procession of athletes on sapboards and kayaks.‌ Concurrently, a large-scale parade featuring musicians, creative groups, and animators will take place in the city center.

Additional events include a “parade of first-graders” with⁣ entertainment in ​Gagarin Park, the Chelteraportfest Public Transport Festival showcasing retro ⁣and modern vehicles on Karl Marx Street, and the “Legends of Chelyabinsk” creative⁣ action‍ with an ​art competition and concert on Kirovka. Theater enthusiasts can enjoy ⁤a performance marathon featuring the “Mannequin,” New Art Theater, “Scarab,” and Chamber Theater.

The evening⁢ will ⁢feature a festive concert at the shopping⁤ center’s ⁣main stage, headlined by Dmitry Pevtsov and Valeria, and hosted by Dmitry Guberniev.

The celebration will conclude with a ⁣fireworks display‌ over the Miass River‍ embankment. The following day, residents‍ can enjoy a ride on a historic yellow retro auto-bus along a designated historical route.

All events are free and open to the public, with no age restrictions.
