Former Wallaby Jeff Miller Appointed CEO of Swire Shipping Fijian Drua
Suva, Fiji – November 8, 2023 – The Swire shipping Fijian Drua have announced the appointment of former Australian international Jeff Miller as their new Chief Executive Officer, effective December 2023. Miller will succeed Mark Evans, who is stepping down after leading the team since 2022.
Miller, a decorated flanker, represented the Wallabies in 26 Test matches between 1986 and 1991, playing a pivotal role in Australia’s triumphant 1991 Rugby World Cup campaign. His career extended beyond the international stage, serving as captain and later coach of the Queensland Reds.
Following his playing career, miller transitioned into rugby governance, holding key leadership positions within the Queensland Rugby Union, including Chief Executive, President, and Chairman. His tenure is widely recognized for its contributions too strengthening player pathways and improving governance structures within Australian rugby.
A prominent figure in Queensland rugby, Miller amassed 69 appearances for the Reds as an openside flanker.He was also a member of the inaugural Wallabies squad at the 1987 Rugby World Cup. his early rugby experience includes representing the Australian Under-21s against Fiji U21 in 1982 at Ballymore.
Outgoing CEO Mark evans will remain in his role until the end of the year to facilitate a seamless transition for Miller and ensure continued stability for the Drua.
