High-Speed Crash Sends Two to Hospital in Sydney‘s Southwest
Austral, NSW – Two men are recovering in hospital following a dramatic high-speed collision on a residential street in Sydney’s southwest. The crash, which occurred on Fourteenth Avenue in Austral, was captured on multiple cameras, revealing a harrowing sequence of events.
Footage shows a ute travelling at speed along the street when a Corolla unexpectedly entered the intersection,appearing to run a giveway sign. The resulting impact sent both vehicles spinning, with the ute ultimately colliding with a palm tree approximately 50 metres from the initial point of impact.
Emergency services were quickly on the scene, transporting both drivers to hospital with injuries.Their conditions are currently unknown.
The fiancée of the 21-year-old driver of the Corolla was among the first to arrive, describing the scene as “horrific” and “traumatising.”
“My fiancé was on his way back here. We were in the living room waiting. We all rushed outside, found that it was him that was involved,” she told reporters, visibly shaken.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and appealing for any witnesses to come forward. The incident has prompted renewed calls for caution on local roads.
